DoubleQuad is a logic game invented by Oleg Akvan, inspired by the classic game 2048 by Gabriele Cirulli. However, unlike the popular classic, it is completely deterministic and does not depend on the random appearance of numbered tiles on the game board. In the classic DoubleQuad game, your board starts with tiles each with a value of 2, and your goal is to combine identical tiles to reach the target number or to achieve the highest possible number. By selecting a tile of a specific value and moving it onto an adjacent tile (horizontally or vertically) of equal value, you merge them. As a result, the target tile doubles, and a new tile with a value of 2 appears in the vacated spot. Moves in the game are limited; however, merging tiles returns a move, allowing you to play indefinitely as long as you can combine tiles. By swapping tiles of different values, you improve your strategic position, but this consumes limited moves and brings you closer to the end of the game, as running out of moves and having no tiles left to merge will inevitably lead to a loss. On this website, you can play both the classic version of DoubleQuad and many other variants.
